You want to lose 4KG in 4 weeks.
Weight loss and Fat loss is often a reason to work with Food and Fitness by Louise, but I will challenge you to explore other reasons for your motivation. After completing a health and lifestyle questionnaire I will challenge you to define your “why.” If you want to lose weight, why do you want to do this, is it to feel more confident, look better in that dress? Once defined again ask “Why.” Keep exploring your why until you find the root reason. Embarking on a food and fitness journey has ups and downs and at times is challenging. In order to keep motivated your “Why” has to be stronger than you reason to stop.

Changing your Food and Fitness habits takes work and commitment. Being an active participant in the process allows you to understand the process and your behaviours. If you do what you have always done, you will get what you always get.
Changing your approach to food and fitness is full of ups and downs. My recent blog explored how to get through those dips. My approach is not about being perfect as perfection is unobtainable but instead; it’s about making progress. Ask yourself, what can you do today to get 10% closer to your goals?

You want to add supplements to your food intake.
I believe in “Real Food” with no supplements, protein powders or exotic ingredients. As humans we are evolved to eat real food and when we choose real food options then our body and minds benefit greatly. I would argue that unless you are an elite athlete or have a specific dietary need then there is little place of supplements in your daily food intake.

You believe you have to punish yourself in order to get results.
You are likely to have to amend some of your food and fitness behaviours in order to get the results you desire but you certainly don’t have to restrict yourself and adopt the reward and punishment mindset. The right food has significant positive impacts on the body and mind, and prove to be very beneficial especially for those in the peri-menopause stage of life. We need all food groups and by eliminating any of them our body suffers.

You want a highly flexible approach to your training times and days.
“Commitment means staying loyal to what you have said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in has left you”
Food and Fitness is often approached initially with great motivation and with any new project it will have ups and downs and at times the motivation will waver. My aim is to support during the ups and then downs and help you push through those challenges. One of the ways to do this is by building a consistent fitness routine.
The option to cancel last minute without penalty, change times and days due to how you feel is not a good foundation to build positive new behaviours.
Structure, routine and consistency are some of the elements that contribute to your success. A timetable will be scheduled with you and that time will be allocated to you in order to support positive behaviours. Your fitness is scheduled just like a meeting a work and has been proven to help build structure, routine and consistency.
